Exceptional systems engineers sought to create and maintain systems infrastructure at a supercomputer data center near Binghamton, NY. We will consider candidates with all levels of experience.
Successful candidates will work on-site to assist with and develop software tools to support the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of our massively parallel supercomputers. Linux/Unix System Administrator to provide system administration to high priority infrastructure/systems, Servers running including Solaris and Linux a operating systems. Work will include development, installation, configuration, maintenance, and urgent troubleshooting efforts. The selected person will also contribute to projects, status updates, briefings, and will advise senior system administrators on enhancements, availability, and performance issues applicable to operations of the Enterprise/Site infrastructure. Typical tasks may include, but are not limited t administration and maintenance of infrastructure/systems, planning, coordinating, and executing OS installations and upgrades, patches, and service pack releases, configuration of systems, Servers, workstations, and peripherals. Additional responsibilities for responding to all system administration related work requests, including assistance to technical support personnel, system engineering analysis, and integration efforts, as well as maintenance of standards documentation.
Location: Reno, NV (preferred) or Las Vegas, NV (possible, but not preferred)
Required Skills:
Must have strong knowledge, understanding, and experience as a System Administrator on Linux RHEL and Solaris 10.  Must be Expert Level with ZFS.
Must possess very good communication skills in order to facilitate the effective and accurate exchange of information across a multi-location enterprise, with customer visibility into system administration.
Must have the ability to multi-task in a highly dynamic environment with changing priorities.
Must possess strong customer service and team skills, proven customer interaction and customer support experience.
