This is a great opportunity to technically lead a small team of software/hardware engineers that are responsible for a sophisticated product which semi-automates below ground mining equipment. The role is with a Forbes US 100 company which is a global leader of mining solutions. Your team is part of a product development group which has 800+ staff that is responsible for creating, deploying & supporting a mine control & monitoring solution which will transform mining operations.
The solution suite utilises a Real Time Linux OS, C++, machine control, CAN bus, LIDAR, RFID technology and wireless/wired networks and streams video. You will provide technical leadership to your team as well as be involved in improving or creating software development processes to improve the delivery/support capability of the team. You will report to an engineering manager who is based in Brisbane as well as liaise closely with a mine machine engineering team based in Tasmania
To be successful in obtaining this role you will need to possess the following:
- A degree in Computer Science or Electronics Engineering
- Product development experience involving Embedded systems and machine control
- Proven track record of technical leadership
- Strong verbal & written communication skills
- Strong problem solving skills
- Can do attitude with the ability to bring out the best in your team
- Strong Linux RTOS, C++ & TCP/IP Networking skills
The salary package includes 12% super, comprehensive health insurance, life/TPD/salary continuance, employee share scheme and company bonus (16% of the base salary).
