Prestigious Firm in the Trading Industry is seeking a Senior UNIX Engineer. The ideal candidate will have both Linux and Sun Solaris with knowledge of Veritas clustering and Foundations Suite being a must. They are migrating from Sun 10 server to all Linux Red Hat. Individual will be part of a team that administers the corporate UNIX infrastructure which consists of Solaris/AIX and Linux Servers in a 24x7 highly available data center environment
Responsibilities:
o This position is responsible for planning, implementing and performing all of the various tasks required to operate and maintain multiple Linux and Solaris systems.
o Maintain mission critical trading platforms
o Resolves system problems by debugging, identifying the root cause and applying corrective maintenance.
o Resolves system performance problems by careful analysis of the available information sources, identifies the root cause and recommends appropriate tuning activities.
o Initiates new responsibilities and helps plan for the future of the site/network
o Customer Focus: Makes and meets internal customer commitments, including closing customer issues in a timely manner.
o Driving standards for system administration processes and writing scripts to automate the processes.
o Participating in Unix System Admin team's 24/7 On-call & Early support rotation
Experience:
o Hands-on experience with Solaris jumpstarting and RedHat Linux Kickstart server build outs on x86 hardware.
o Expertise with Symantec products including Storage Foundation RAC, VCS, Foundation Suite & NetBackup.
o Expertise with RedHat Linux Administration and Performance tuning.
o Experience with Solaris 10.x Zones and Containers.
o Experience with IPMP/Link Aggregation/Bonding.
o Experience with fine tuning OS for low latency and network performance troubleshooting is plus.
o Experience with RedHat KVM and RHEV is plus.
o Experience with VMWARE ESXi administration is desirable.
o Shell/Perl Scripting.
o Minimum 5 years of experience.
Employment Type: Permanent
Pay: $100,000 to $110,000 USD
Pay Period: Annual
Other Pay Info: Bonus
