Prestigious Global Trading Firm is currently seeking a Linux Applications Support Specialist. Candidate will support a trading environment running multiple Linux based applications, focusing on analysis, stability and performance.
Responsibilities:
Work with Infrastructure team as third level support.
Holistic analysis of trading desks.
Application analysis, log parsing and diagnosing possible issues with systems.
Performance tuning: operating system, hardware, networking, and applications.
Architecture analysis, design, and managing implementation.
Speed analysis and monitoring.
Track trading Real Time for possible inefficiencies.
Communicate on a daily basis with traders and development to drive innovation with multiple specialized technical teams.
Work and problem solve in a fast-paced, hands-on trading environment
Qualifications:
BS/MS in Computer Science, Computer/Electrical Engineering, or related technical degree.
Innovative mind and a desire for troubleshooting application issues and performance analysis.
Scripting language knowledge such as: Shell, Python, Perl, or PowerShell.
Strong knowledge in C++, C#, or Java.
Coding isn't a core capability but analysis of certain code will be.
Frequent Core File analysis.
Strong understanding of CS principles and concepts including algorithms, data structures, multiprocessing, Object Oriented Design patterns, and clean coding principles.
Strong understanding of machine and operating system architecture.
Experience with SQL Server and SQL query language.
Extensive experience with Linux systems; Red Hat preferred.
Ability to meet deadlines in a fast paced, entrepreneurial environment.
Knowledge of trading exchanges and understanding of financial instruments is a plus.
Previous experience within the Financial Industry is a plus.
Employment Type: Permanent
Pay: $80,000 to $100,000 USD
Pay Period: Annual
Other Pay Info: Bonus
