The objective of this System Administrator position is to maintain and improve the company's systems and networks. This important position will contribute to Oversee.net's success by taking necessary steps to ensure that the information technology infrastructure is always up and available. The individual must be able to handle complex technical troubleshooting and work under pressure.
Job Responsibilities:
Develop tools to monitor, manage, and maintain network systems, network devices, and Network storage device.s
Perform systems installations, upgrades, and maintenance ensuring 24x7 operation across multiple data centers.
Configure system and network parameters and monitor system stability and performance.
Configure and troubleshoot: RedHat and CentOS Linux systems; core Linux services; MySQL servers; and TCP/IP networks.
Write comprehensive documentation. Troubleshoot and resolve hardware and software related problems on company web, database and file servers.
Actively participate in the development and improvement of automation and monitoring systems.
Produce architecture and procedural documentation for internal and company-wide consumption.
Participate in 24x7 on-call rotational support.
Job Requirements:
Bachelors degree in Computer Science or a related field or equivalent work experience.
7+ years of Linux experience configuring RedHat and CentOS Linux systems.
7+ years of troubleshooting within Linux and UNIX environments.
Must also have a minimum of 2 years of experience in each of the following:
MySQL database administration and troubleshooting
Networking, configuring, maintaining and troubleshooting
Script writing – Bash/Perl/Python
Ability to handle multiple project and assignments concurrently.
Excellent customer service skills to effectively communicate and interact with all levels of management.
Excellent interpersonal skills, with a strong ability to effectively interact with a diverse team of people and to deal with fast paced work environment with rapidly changing work priorities.
Must participate in on-call rotation.
