MySQL Database Administrator/DBA - MySQL, InnoDB, Oracle, Linux, Unix, Python, PHP, Perl, Bash, Shell, E-commerce, scalability, reliability

A large and growing international E-commerce company based in Amsterdam is searching for experienced MySQL Database Administrators. You will be working closely with the Unix teams.

Currently supporting their main website (with millions of visitors/month) are 2-3000 Linux Servers, supported by 600+ MySQL databases. Previous experience working in a similar large-scale environment, supporting high traffic websites is a big plus.

Candidates with a strong background in MySQL, but who are currently focusing on Oracle and willing to switch to working with solely with MySQL would be considered if they are willing to learn and adapt.

Automation skills are key in this position. Knowledge of languages such as PHP, Perl, Python, Bash or Shell will be important. You will be designing, installing and troubleshooting their current systems and software. You focus on the stability of the current infrastructure and anticipate future challenges and solutions. Query optimization and performance tuning are also part of your tasks.

It is vital that you are able to troubleshoot under pressure and can analyse issues of scalability and reliability. At least 2 years experience with MySQL and InnoDB environments is required (deployment, replication etc.).

You will be working together with various teams, so excellent communication skills in English are required.
