Large Energy Company is seeking a go-getter who has Linux Administration and Linux Desktop experience. Candidate must be knowledgeable of the Linux operating system and Linux system administration, OS installation and monitoring. Candidate will be responsible for installing, configuring and maintaining operating systems on Servers and some workstations, including web Servers, in support of scientific and business processing requirements.
Qualifications and Essential Job Functions
BS or BA degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience.
3+ years experience as a Linux systems administrator.
Ability to communicate with a variety of department members and scientific personnel.
Demonstrated ability working with medium to large environments, preferably 100 or more systems.
Extensive Shell Scripting skills.
Experience with Oracle VM or other virtualization technology preferred.
Experience with monitoring tools (Nagios and/or Zabbix) a plus.
Experience with Python preferred.
Experience working with configuration management tools (Puppet) a plus.
Demonstrated ability using ITIL incident and/or change management preferred.
Proficient with Shell (bash) and Python Scripting.
Experience automating tasks.
Experience with variety of hardware types and configurations
Experience working in large, complex computing environments.
Must have ability to prioritize tasks and work with a large and diverse set of users.
Knowledge of ITIL management framework, and experience using ITIL processes preferred.
Must have good interpersonal communication and collaboration skills.
Must be able to write clearly.
Employment Type: Permanent
Pay: $80,000 to $90,000 USD
Pay Period: Annual
