This challenging permanent role offers you the opportunity to work for one of the leading global providers of web-based financial trading technology instruments. Our client uses state of the art low latency, high throughput distributed computing and therefore requires passionate developers, who are looking for more than just a coding role.
You will be part of the Architecture team with the primary focus to achieve application performance that yields an excellent user experience. In order to do so you will be managing the performance throughout the application life cycle. More specifically you will be performing measurement studies, consult with the development team and provide technical leadership, all the while not being scared of touching C/C++ source code on the Linux Kernel and JVM level. Troubleshooting and resolving production issues are thus also one of your key responsibilities.
In order to be considered for this opportunity, you will possess the following skills and attributes:
Master Degree or PhD in computer science
3+ years of Server Side Java development
Mastery of your extensive performance analysis tool set down from the OS level into the Java application level
Very good understanding of distributed computing infrastructures
Extensive theoretical and practical background in algorithms and data structures (single- and multi threaded environment)
Expert understanding of throughput, latency, memory and CPU utilization
Extraordinary ability to identify potential limitations in software architectures
Exceptional attention to detail
