For this position with a world-renowned computer manufacturing company, you will be performing a wide variety of server support activities in a large-scale, high-performance computing environment.
OVERVIEW:
Primary support in a Lab environment, focus will be Linux OS and hardware break-fix
Secondary support for Data Center environment, focus will be on Windows Client and Server support
Netbatch implementation and support
Daily problem resolution on all OS's and hardware configurations
Troubleshoot and isolate lab network issues for escalation as needed
Support of current non-standard storage solution setup and maintenance
REQUIREMENTS:
Solid working knowledge of Linux OS's (Ubuntu, RedHat, SLES, Fedora, Debian, etc.)
Experience and skills to provide installation, configuration, troubleshooting, security and patching, installing apps on standard and non-standard hardware and OS configurations
General knowledge of how networks operate and basic troubleshooting of network issues
Understanding of DNS, DHCP, NIS, Active Directory, other
Strong hardware skills both client and server
Knowledge and understanding of "storage", such as Filers, NAS, SAN
Working knowledge of User and Account management (Windows and Linux)
Understanding of IIS and web services
Working knowledge of virtualization, eg VMware, EXSi or ESX, etc.
MSS and security compliance for all OS's
Strong customer engagement skills
Ability to provide sustainable support in and unsupervised environment
This contract position is expected to be 12 months in duration.
