Fast-growing and bleeding-edge company has an immediate need for a Senior Systems Engineer. In this role open due to company growth, you will play an integral role on a team of about 10 IT professionals in the Development Ops group. This is a great opportunity to work with interesting projects and have the opportunity to lead and mentor if desired. There is very little "red tape" at this company, as there are no change control boards and you will generally have the freedom to do what you need to get the job done, unlike many other Dev Ops environments.

Responsibilities:
Heavy research for new infrastructure initiatives and deployments - could be 4-5 days of research, managing the life cycle, etc. This is about 60% of the job. VERY exciting work!
Typical maintenance (example, if the disks get full etc make sure doesn't happen again etc.).
Generally helping to maintain current fleet of machines but also getting the company to where they need to be in 6 months.
Better tooling, more robust reporting, all the things that go along with scale.
Getting involved with deployment process and assisting their continuous integration environment.
Manage the software process (make sure the code that Developers are asking them to release are safe to release, etc).Â
Can work in a virtualized environment as opposed to physical (95% virtualized).
Generally work with in-house applications.
As desired, get involved with assisting the company get closer to their International customers.
Share 24/7 on-call responsibilities on rotational basis (only have had one incident all year!).Â
Requirements:
5+ years systems engineering or systems administration.
Experience with configuration management, preferably Puppet or Chef.
Experience with Cloud/SaaS based platforms.Â
MySQL experience and interested in learning NoSQL databases
Senior level experience with Unix/Linux, preferably Redhat/Centos and Solaris
Good with high-volume data.
BASH and/or Perl Scripting skills
Experience deploying software to cloud infrastructure.Â
Experience with SSL, load balancing software and hardware, and monitoring tools.
Plusses:
PHP, Ruby development experience.
Any cloud tech experience: AWS, OpenStack, Eucalyptus, CloudStack, etc.

Pay: $90,000 to $110,000 USD
