Our client is a leading global Internet services organization and are currently searching for a SAP Basis administrator/specialist to join their team.
As a SAP Basis specialist you will join a team of c. 150 IT professionals currently working from this HQ location.
You will maintain and provide support for business critical systems in order for our client to maintain its leading position in the market and continue to deliver in respect to our continued growth. This position works closely with the in-house SAP and UNIX teams.
Role requirements
Key Responsibilities for the SAP Basis specialist include:
-This role is ideal for a creative and quality focused SAP technical support and/or systems admin professional, that wishes to immerse themselves into the commercial dynamics of a successful and rapidly growing company.
-Your role will be to ensure smooth system-run by performing updating, installing, troubleshooting, recovering and maintaining of the existing and new features of the SAP, ERP system.
Within your role you will:
-Administer, maintain and support existing SAP installations (including ECC 6.0, BI 7.0 and Portal 7.0), including database management of MaxDB and performance tuning.
-Install new systems, upgrade and re-install existing systems to meet business growth and changing business requirements.
-Maintain and develop knowledge of SAP technology developments and SAP products, both those in use and those which may in future be used within the company.
-Work with SAP system users to define their needs, identify problems, evaluating potential solutions, demonstrating, installing and implementing improvements.
-Ensure that SAP system issues are investigated, diagnosed and resolved, working with external and internal partners for SAP development and server systems administration.
-Work with SAP application developers to support successful application development and release through QA testing into production.
-Provide expertise on all SAP matters to systems administration and other technical teams within the company.
-Communicate with all stakeholders within the business to ensure that all SAP-related issues are resolved with appropriate priorities.
-Devise, develop and implement resiliency, recovery and archiving procedures and test these regularly to minimise risks in the business.
-Work with other teams inside and outside the business to fulfil requirements for integration of SAP systems with other business systems and processes.
-Manage SAP development, quality assurance, and production systems to ensure that all development and QA activities proceed successfully so that production systems operate reliably.
Skills requirements
-c. 3-5+ years SAP Basis (UNIX, Linux) experience
-Experience with setup, use, maintenance, transports
-Experience of administration of SAP software
-Have excellent team working abilities
-Some experience of Red Hat Linux (or CentOS) administration, nice to have.
-MaxDB administration and tuning skills.
-UNIX Scripting and systems administration automation.
-Experience of systems monitoring and alerting software
-This is an English speaking work environment, so fluency in English is essential
