Exceptional systems programmers sought to design, develop, and deploy systems software for a special-purpose supercomputer. Successful hires will join an interdisciplinary research group pursuing an ambitious, long-term project aimed at achieving major scientific advances in the fields of biochemistry and molecular biology. Our Systems Software developers work on operating systems, network software, firmware co-design, compilers, build systems, debugging tools, diagnostics, and command-line and web-based interfaces for scalable operations, administration, maintenance and provisioning (OAM&P).
Ideal candidates will have a computer science or engineering degree, prior experience with non-trivial parallel or distributed systems software projects, deep knowledge of operating systems internals, strong C,C++, andPython programming ability, and excellent verbal and written skills. Familiarity with device drivers, Linux or BSD kernels, run-time systems, TCP/IP sockets and other communication protocols, event-driven and thread-based concurrency, SQL, Django, bootstrap code, x86 hardware and bringup of new hardware is a plus, but specific knowledge of any of these areas is less critical than exceptional intellectual ability and a demonstrated track record of achievement.
