Client: CompuCom

Location: Shelton, CT

Duration: 6 month contract to hire

Start Date: 08/06/12

Hours: Monday - Friday 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.

* We're looking for someone with an even balance of Windows and Linux server experience. We would be interested in any candidate who has the right skill set, and meets the qualifications on the job description.*

Required skills and minimum 2+ years' experience with:

Hands on experience with Unix Operating Systems, installation, compilation, patch and package installs, etc.

o Linux Red Hat Enterprise Server 5 (OEL)

o Sun Solaris 10

o Windows 2003 Server and IIS

In-depth knowledge of General Release Apache, including module installs, tuning, redirection, compilation and logging for Linux and Solaris.

Application Server administration of Tomcat 6 or JBoss 4

Thorough understanding of the app tier connectivity to Databases (Oracle or MySQL) via connection pool configuration.

Hands on experience and knowledge with Scripting; (Shell, bash & Python)

Well-developed troubleshooting skills from Wing to Wing in a web infrastructure model.

Proactive self-motivated team member with good communications skills

General understanding of Network concepts, WAN, DNS & load balancing devices such as F5 BigIp/LTMs.

Familiarity with Six-Sigma tools and rigor

Preferred skills and experience:

Familiarity with Server & OS Virtualization products

Experience with server and network monitoring tools and alerting

Experience operating Servers in a DMZ

General familiarity with OS hardening and other system Security methods

Duration: 6 month contract to hire
