Large financial firm in Chicago is seeking a Unix Systems Administrator with expertise in Unix/Solaris//Linux suite of products.

Position Summary:

The successful candidate will be part of a team that administers the corporate UNIX infrastructure which consists of Solaris/Linux Servers in a 24x7 highly available data center environment.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Strong knowledge of Veritas products families required - Foundation Suite, VCS, VVR-minimal levels of 5.0+ required.

Extensive experience with Unix/Linux systems administration

Solaris 10 skills sets required - experience level needs to be high. The candidate needs to be completely familiar with ZFS/ZoninglJumpstarting as well as performance tuning and monitoring and all other Solaris 10 capacities.

Strong DTRACE and performance analysing skills.

Excellent project management, documentation, and peer communication skills required.

Requirements:

This position requires 4+ years experience with strong Solaris 10 background, and in-depth

Veritas skill sets - SF Foundation (5.0), HA (5.0) VCS/RAC (5.0), VVR (5.0)

Linux (RH 5.5+/SUSE SLES 9+); AIX 5.3+ beneficial.

Strong day-to-day experience in UNIX skill sets of NFS/NIS/DNS required. Proficiency in Perl and Shell Scripting is essential. Network troubleshooting skills are plus.

The candidate will be handling multiple critical projects simultaneously in a fast paced and demanding environment.

Education:

Bachelors degree in Computer Science or related preferred; Master's degree advantageous.
