Senior Linux Enterprise Architect/Senior Linux Architect - HIGH FREQUENCY PROP TRADING FIRM. A leading and established high frequency prop trading firm are immediately seeking a talented Senior Linux Systems Enterprise Architect will have a strong background in high performance enterprise computing technology and superb organizational and time management skills. This hands-on individual will be highly skilled in the details and nuances of managing Linux environments with a strong software development background necessary to support uniquely customized systems. We are looking for strong leadership skills and the preferred candidate will come from outside of the industry such as Head of IT Operations at Software Development Company.
Your Responsibilities
Manage the IT needs of the business units and set expectations with the user community and properly notify them of system delays and/or anomalies.
Define strategies to automate tasks and/or build tools to increase the maintainability and scalability of the Linux environment.
Proactive monitoring, alerting and remediation; provision and patch server systems as required.
Design and implement innovative enterprise-wide IT solutions and best practices.
Troubleshoot problems and issues with business units and various IT staff.
Your Profile
Expertise in various flavors of Linux (Redhat, CentOS, Ubuntu) including customized kernels. Ability to adapt tools between Linux distributions and Kernel versions.
Strong knowledge of configuration management tools, current environment is CF Engine.
Solid background in Software Development - Current environment is primarily Linux, C/C++, Shell, Perl, Python.
Familiar with networking technologies including Ethernet, Infiniband, Multicast, and TCP.
Experience with system monitoring/analysis tools.
Excellent communication and documentation skills
Ability to communicate effectively with people of varying technical abilities
Ability to work with highly confidential materials.
