Exceptional systems engineers sought to create and maintain systems infrastructure at a supercomputer data center near Binghamton, NY. We will consider candidates with all levels of experience.
Successful candidates will work on-site to assist with and develop software tools to support the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of our massively parallel supercomputers. Ideal candidates will have experience with Python and Java script, familiarity with Django, knowledge of Linux/UNIX operating systems, and excellent communication skills. Other desirable skills could include shell scripting, experience with SQL, and familiarity with data center practices, such as cable routing and maintenance of power and cooling infrastructure. We are prepared to reward exceptionally well-qualified individuals with above-market compensation.
D. E. Shaw Research is a New York–based interdisciplinary research group pursuing an ambitious, long-term project aimed at achieving major scientific advances in the fields of biochemistry and molecular biology. Among the group's current activities is the development of specialized supercomputers designed in part to fundamentally transform the process of drug discovery.
