An Excellent opportunity has become available with a Client based in Slough as Data Centre Engineer to join their team on a permanent basis. As the Data Centre Engineer to maintain a leading monitoring system and an advanced network infrastructure
Key Responsibilities:
*Manage the provisioning of infrastructure capacity to support the needs of the business both on a day to day basis and to support the strategic needs of the business.
*Maintain accurate monitoring (network and application) system to ensure systems are performing to the required standard and pre-emptive action can be taken against potential issues.
*Working closely with customer services, support, professional services and other business customers to ensure service delivery is tracked, change management, escalations etc.
*Be a part of NOC and Ticket management system for support, service and change processes and documentation in line with the ITIL framework, ISO 9001/27001, data protection standards
Skills and Experiences:
Monitoring system:
Candidate must have through understanding and knowledge of monitoring system.
*Generator/UPS/HVAC monitoring etc.
*ModBus/TCP & CANBus/RTU
*Cacti/Weathermap/ Smokeping/RANCID/RRDTool
*PowerDNS/BIND authoritative DNS servers
*HTTP/NNTP/FTP/NNTP/MX/DHCP Servers
*PHP-based custom-reports/scoreboard
Application, OS and Development Skills:
*Linux, Unix basic administration/ Scripting
*Cacti/Weathermap/ Smokeping/RANCID/RRDTool
*Radiator RADIUS servers for DSL and Dialup environments
*Perl/ PHP/drupal-5.0/MySQL/Subversion
*SMS gateway interface with monitoring system
*Develop, debug, maintain AccountsDB (ASP, PHP, MySQL,C#, PHP, MySQL)
*BlueQuartz & BlueOnyx Servers installation and maintenance
Networking and security Skills:
Candidate must have a thorough understanding of networking services.
*DC network (Cisco, HP & Extreme switches, Cisco routers, Procurve)
*TCP/IP/MPLS/BGP/OSPF
