ABOUT THE PROJECT

GTN Technical Staffing has an urgent need for a strong Tier II RedHat/UNIX Engineer opportunity in Irving, TX.  Our client is feeling a deep sense of urgency and will begin conducting technical phone screens ASAP.  The Engineer will work on the overnight shift to provide Tier II escalation services in support of enterprise production webhosting systems. The Engineer will work closely with Tier I engineers to ensure that all aspects of the customer's ongoing systems administration are successful. The Engineer will act as an escalation point for customer issues that cannot be quickly remediated by Tier I support, as well as correcting recurring technical issues. The Engineer will also act as a technical mentor to Tier I personnel.  The Engineer will be expected to gain certification in their area of expertise as requested by Management.

TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS

4+ years of experience in the following skill sets

RedHat Enterprise Linux and/or CentOS on Intel x86-64.

Large Environment/Enterprise Server Platforms - HP Proliant/IBM xSeries, etc.

Apache Web Hosting Administration/Support

Internet Networking Technologies/Principles - TCP/IP and DNS, etc.

OS Shell Scripting - Bash/Korn/PowerShell/Shell Scripting

Administration/Support - Apache/PHP/MySQL/BIND/PostFix/SendMail, etc.

MySQL/Oracle Troubleshooting/Support

Virtualized Environment - VMware ESX (ESXI)/XEN/VirtualBox/Hyper-V    

Networking Architecture - Troubleshooting/Operations Management

Providing Customer-Focused Quality ServicePREFERRED (but not required)

Certifications

RHCE v4/5 Certification

VCP - VMware Certification

Oracle and/or MySQL Certifications

ITIL Foundation Certification

Technical Lead/Senior-Level Escalations

Hands-on Development - Perl/PHP/C++, etc.

LAMP Stack Support/Troubleshooting

MySQL Administration/Support

Troubleshooting/Administering Operating Systems/Hardware

Storage System Technologies

Automating Tools/Tasks
