We are looking for a Linux Systems Administrator that will participate in system design and develop enhancements and improvements to the Red Hat Linux server environment and to the packaging, patching, and installation methodologies used to support the system.

Requirements:

You will be required to manage installation, configuration, operation, and maintenance of server hardware and software to ensure availability for all system users and developers; install and manage virtual machines using VMware vSphere; manage development, integration, and test networks for all developers and testers; configure CPU, memory, and disk partitions as required; You will also be responsible for applying Linux patches and upgrades on a regular basis to ensure system stability on production, development, integration, and test Servers; provide Tier III support for all system users per request; investigate and troubleshoot issues in a timely manner to ensure little to no affect on user's daily functions; work with various vendors to repair and recover hardware or software failures; support the tracking and purchase of lab equipment, software, establish and manage user accounts on Linux platforms; and conduct in-depth research of server virtualization and use this research to engineer a virtualization network to allow users to remotely assess the Servers on various platforms, as needed.

Skills and Qualifications:

Qualifications Requires Bachelor's degree (in Computer Science or a related field) or equivalent, and five to seven years of related experience. Red Hat Automated Installation - Kick-start System Patching/Backups/Restores Scripting with BASH or Perl VM experience/VMware certification a plus: Solaris 9 or 10 administration experience Red Hat Certifications preferred
