Entry Level (College Grad) Systems Administrator

Our client is looking for a recent college grad with a Computer Science or Engineering degree who wants to a career path to becoming a Unix/Linux Systems Administrator/Systems Engineer. This candidate must be be self-motivated, a team player, and have a positive go-getter attitude.

In this role you will learn how to support a 24x7 Service Infrastructure environment with a Saas company. 

The candidate will learn how to monitor and support cloud based applications, UNIX based systems, service infrastructure. Will provide Level 1 shift support on both development/QA and Service Infrastructure environment.

Additional skills you will learn:

Monitor all Service Infrastructure systems and services in a UNIX (Linux/Solaris) production environment

First response resolution of all alerts and problem reports 

Problem ticket creation, processing and queue management 

Technical chat, technical call or bridge management and facilitation 

Able to create/revise documentation thoroughly for tactical use and training 

Follow all documented processes and procedures

Escalate all issues to documented escalation Matrix 

Provide timely feedback on process/procedural improvements and operational inefficiencies 

Complete tasks required to maintain service levels and availability of all features and functions

Basic concepts of corporate network, colo, and cloud

Gain troubleshooting skills

Gain prioritization skills

Work with monitoring tools such as Opmanager, Splunk, etc.

Required Skills

Bachelors Degree or Equivalent in Computer Science or other related engineering fields A MUST!

Should have strong interpersonal skills, ability to take ownership, and the ability to identify and solve problems quickly. 

MUST be A team player
