Prestigious Institution in the western suburbs seeks a Senior Linux Administrator. The successful candidate will help maintain and integrate computing needs using effective operation of Servers, workstations, data storage, and batch systems, and will configure equipment and the computing environment.
Qualifications and Essential Job Functions
BS or BA degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience.
3+ years experience as a Linux systems administrator.
Ability to communicate with a variety of department members and scientific personnel.
Demonstrated ability working with medium to large environments, preferably 100 or more systems.
Extensive Shell Scripting skills.
Experience with Oracle VM or other virtualization technology preferred.
Experience with monitoring tools (Nagios and/or Zabbix) a plus.
Experience with Python preferred.
Experience working with configuration management tools (Puppet) a plus.
Demonstrated ability using ITIL incident and/or change management preferred.
Employment Type: Permanent
Pay: $80,000 to $90,000 USD
Pay Period: Annual
