*This is a 3+ month contract to hire role*
Prestigious Financial Institution is currently seeking a UNIX Linux Engineer with strong performance tunning and preferably Veritas/Symantec experience. Candidate will play a critical role in system administration and server builds in the mission critical, Real Time environment. The UNIX/Linux Engineer will be part of highly experienced team, and be provided new challenges on a daily basis. The purpose of this role is to maintain UNIX-based Servers, both hardware and software.
Responsibilities and Qualifications:
- Linux (RH 5.5+/SUSE SLES 9+) experience.Â
- Knowledge of Veritas products families required - Foundation Suite, VCS, VVR-minimal levels of 5.0+ required.
- Solaris 10 preferred
- DTRACE and performance analysing skills.
- Excellent project management, documentation, and peer communication skills required.
- Veritas skill sets - SF Foundation (5.0), HA (5.0) VCS/RAC (5.0), VVR (5.0)
- Strong day-to-day experience in UNIX skill sets of NFS/NIS/DNS required. Proficiency in Perl and Shell Scripting is essential. Network troubleshooting skills are plus.
- The candidate will be handling multiple critical projects simultaneously in a fast paced and demanding environment. Weekend implementations are part of the work duties as well as being part of a rotating 24x7 pager support team.
Duration: 3+ month contract
Pay: $90,000 to $110,000 USD
Pay Period: Annual
Other Pay Info: Bonus
