The Business Specific brief
Quality engineers at Skype are responsible and accountable for developing and implementing test plans for complex, multi-tier distributed applications throughout the full software development lifecycle. They play a key role in ensuring all appropriate applications (including new and in production) are fully tested to drive optimal customer experience, no matter the platform or the product. Skype quality engineers are meticulous and highly organized, able to work effectively within a wider development team to deliver quality outcomes on time and to specification.
Key Responsibilities
•Create and drive vision for Skype for Android Quality Engineering team
•Effectively manage Skype for Android Quality Engineers
•Work together with Product Engineering Manager, Product Manager and other product leads
•Lead the design and development of Test Automation Framework for Android UI
•Increase testing related processes visibility and quality
•Own test documentation, test deliverables and test practices
•Plan and Manage outsource testing resources
•Run outsourced projects where tools or environment development is delivered by third party
•Help Mobile QE manager with resources planning and hiring
Knowledge and Experience
•3+ years experience managing Mobile QA / testing team
•2+ years of Mobile Software hands-on QA experience as a QA
•Perfect knowledge of Android platforms
•Perfect knowledge of quality and quality related metrics
•Knowledge of software testing methodology (Various techniques, frameworks, etc.)
•Hiring, experience of being in various roles in recruitment as hiring manager, interviewer, panel member etc. and experience of interviewing people more senior then one self
•Hands on experience on Agile (SCRUM) development methodologies
